As many of you may know and most of you may have experienced lately, the Charlotte region has a shortage of soccer referees.  Ever since COVID shutdown soccer in the Spring of 2019, NEW referee registrations are down and several referees have not returned.  In most part because referees had to find other sources to supplement their income.

Did you know, a soccer referee makes on average over $20.00 an hour.  My kids average almost $30.00/hr.  They easily can bring home over $200 from a tournament weekend, usually more.

Unfortunately, becoming a referee is a process and if you are not familiar with the process, or know someone who is, it can be a daunting task.

Saturday March 2nd, 1:00pm, we will be offering Referee Training including the step by step process of registering to become a USSF certified referee.  The class will prepare you to be able to referee immediately this Spring at the Recreation Level and the Club Level.  While playing experience helps, it is not required.

What will be covered:

Referee Certification (How to register, requirements, online coursework, obtaining your badge)
Referee Uniform Requirements – What you need and where to purchase.
Referee Equipment - at minimum what do you need to referee.  What is recommended.
How to be assigned games – tips to be assigned more games.
